  2.      The speaker commands are M and L. M controls WHEN the speaker will be
  3. ON/OFF,  L controls volume. M1 is default (ON until you connect  then  OFF)
  4. and  L2 (medium volume) is default. ATL1 = soft ATL3 = LOUD   Put the  ATLx
  5. (or ATMx) command in your inititalization string or type ATLx or ATMx (x= 0
  6. or 1 or 2 or 3) in terminal mode. ATM0 = speaker always OFF. ATM2 = speaker
  7. always ON. ATM3 = ON during answer only.
  8.      If the speaker is STILL to loud and you don't want it OFF  altogether,
  9. try muffling it with some cotton or cloth.

  11.      If  the  software  you have to use, doesn't let you  change  the  init
  12. string or dial string, you can SAVE the change in any communicaion  program
  13. with terminal mode. Type ATLxMx&W (where 'x' is the setting you want).

  15.      In  MTEZ  ATL1 or ATM0 goes in Setup 'USER' (& call  progress  in  CAS
  16. SETUP  is  set  to NONE). In other programs insert into the  INIT  or  DIAL
  17. string.

  19.      Some  rare cases the speaker may make a noise when you are  using  the
  20. computer. Most of the time this happens, it will STOP, once you issue  any
  21. AT command to the modem.

  23.      If you are trying to hear the progress with a dialer program, you  can
  24. put a 'Y' connector in the 'wall' jack of the modem and plug both the  wall
  25. wire and your phone in the adapter.
